Elon Musk was seen chatting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony, months after denying baseless rumors that they were having an affair.
The world’s richest man was seen having what appeared to be an intense exchange with Meloni at St. John’s Church, where a service was held before the new MAGA officials were sworn in at 12:00 p.m.
They were photographed talking in the hallways before taking a pew, surrounded by several richer and more powerful people present at Trump’s big day.
Rumors of an affair between Musk and Meloni surfaced in September after a photo of them together sent social media into meltdown.
The image showed the pair looking into each other’s eyes at the Global Citizen Awards in New York City as the X boss presented the titular award to the 48-year-old Italian politician. He also called her “beautiful” in his speech.
“Find someone who looks at you the way Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni looks at Elon Musk,” one X user wrote, sharing a photo of the 53-year-old Tesla boss tapping him on the shoulder.
“You can’t have mELONi without ELON,” another added.

At Trump’s inauguration, Meloni was seen laughing with Argentine President Javier Milei after he whispered something in her ear, pictured above.
But when the photos began circulating on his social media platform, Musk denied having had affairs with Meloni at the gala event.
“I was there with my mother. There is no romantic relationship with Prime Minister Meloni,” Musk wrote in X in response to a post of a photo showing them gazing into each other’s eyes at a banquet table, which came with the caption: “We all know what happened next.”

Meanwhile, future government official Musk was photographed speaking with Google CEO Sundar Pichai.
Musk and Meloni have met several times before, with the Italian prime minister hosting the billionaire at his official residence in Rome in June 2023.
He then returned to the country in December, when he spoke at a political festival organized by Meloni’s far-right Brothers of Italy party.
They have previously discussed their shared interest in declining birth rates in the West and the positive potential of AI. according to the Telegraph.
Meloni, who split from longtime partner Andrea Giambruno after he made lewd comments on Italian television in 2023, even asked Musk to present him with the Global Citizen Award from the Atlantic Council think tank.
In brief remarks before presenting the award, Musk said Meloni was “someone who is even more beautiful on the inside than on the outside.”

“You can’t always say that about politicians,” he joked, referring to her as “authentic, honest and thoughtful.”
The Italian right-wing leader responded that the American businessman was a “beautiful genius” before launching into his vision of Western conservatism.
“I don’t know if nationalism is the right word because it often brings to mind doctrines of aggression or authoritarianism,” he told a crowd of more than 600 people at Manhattan’s Ziegfeld Ballroom.
“However, I know that we should not be ashamed to use and defend words and concepts like ‘nation’ and ‘patriotism.'”
Meloni went on to call patriotism “the best answer to decline” while challenging perceptions of the “inevitable decline of the West.”
Musk was seen nodding during her speech and stood to applaud her when she finished.
