She said, “Most of my friends and family were shocked. It wasn’t on the map, but it wasn’t on the maps either – we’d had such an amazing first year of marriage. I didn’t tell anyone, but then I got to a point where I was ready to let people know.”
About motherhood, she added: ‘There is a huge sense of camaraderie among new mothers, not just about being pregnant, but about breastfeeding and figuring it all out.
“It seems like motherhood is a time when you can never say too much about what’s going on, and I’m grateful for that.”

She also discussed meeting her current husband Caspar at a friend’s dinner party in New York in 2018, before getting married a year later in a star-studded ceremony at York Minster.
She said, “I was exhausted that night and I almost didn’t go. We were painfully shy around each other at first, but once we got over that, we realized we were really meant for each other – he’s very romantic.”
She was also invited to sing at the royal wedding reception for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in 2011, sharing how she was “nervous” before the performance.
She said, “It was just a whirlwind then. They were fans of my music and asked me to perform. It was a big secret and proof to my band and everyone around me that we managed to keep it that way.
