Ellie Goulding stood out from the crowd when she attended the Kennedy Center Honors, which recognizes people in the performing arts for their contributions to American culture.

The English singer, 34, looked angelic in a metallic silver dress with bell-sleeves that resembled wings as the songwriter raised her arms.

Ellie seemed to love it as she twirled around in the flowing pleated dress and showed off the fun and festive sleeves.

The outing comes after Ellie reflected last month on how she embraced her postpartum figure after giving birth to her son Arthur with husband Caspar Jopling in May.

She spoke about how “she just didn’t care” her “tummy was hanging out” after welcoming her baby son, as she spoke about her self-acceptance journey and how she overcame her sports addiction.

On the Reign With Josh Smith podcast, Ellie spoke about the challenges of going back to work three weeks after giving birth, how past touring led to her drinking and how she was in a ‘bad place’ when she got the felt the need for constant training.

Reflecting on how motherhood affected her body image, Ellie said, “I just had a flashback to maybe two or three weeks after I gave birth.

“I was walking around in this comfy T-shirt and some leggings, I was doing yoga or something postnatal and my stomach was like I was hanging out and I just didn’t care. I’ve never cared less about my body being exposed.

“And Caspar walks in, I think we had a contractor at the time and I didn’t care. I just didn’t think, “I have to cover up.” And it also seemed like no one cared.

“You just had a kid, and also this ease of knowing that I’m not my normal self and feel no urge to lose weight, no urge to look, in quotes, ‘how I used to look’.

“It’s like appreciating your body just a little bit more because you realize it’s done something really cool.”
