An elderly neighbor who saw a little girl off to her first day of preschool left netizens in tears.
Content creator Megan Rae Clark, 32, has posted a heartwarming video of her adorable daughter, Kate, approaching her elderly neighbor, Albert “Buddy” Brister, 83, and giving him a sweet hug.
The clip’s overlay text read: ‘Our daughter started “school” today, and I was fine until our neighbor came to say “goodbye” to her.’
The Nashville-based mother of three edited the TikTok to include a slew of photos of Albert holding the little girl as a baby.
In the heartwarming photos, Albert is seen laughing with her, feeding her a bottle of milk, looking at her lovingly and even giving her a ride on his lawnmower.

‘It’s funny how people thank us for letting them love our baby, because they’ve done so much more for us than we could ever do for them.
‘The love you have given our children is something I never imagined from people who were once strangers.
“He’s been through a lot, and now to have this little baby that he loves so much… it’s just sweet to see him.”

In it, Buddy’s wife, Brenda Brister, 75, holds Kate as the little girl reaches out to touch Buddy’s nose, then he kisses her cheek as she smiles.

Megan shared with PeopleBuddy said to Kate, “Buddy loves you and save me a seat at lunch. I’ll come sit with you.”
Kate’s school was just around the corner, so Buddy rode his bike there during lunch so he could watch Kate enjoying the playground.
Megan told Kate that if she did well in school, as a “reward,” they could visit Brenda and Buddy afterward.
She shared: ‘Brenda and Buddy see Kate every day. If they don’t see her, they ask us if we can take her to their house. It’s a little overwhelming sometimes, but it’s fun. They’re so funny.’
‘Buddy is a Vietnam veteran with a tough exterior, but he’s incredibly gentle with Kate.
‘He goes to Walmart every day and almost always buys something special.
“Her house is filled with her favorite snacks and shows. It’s really touching.”
She explained that Buddy was “devastated” when he acknowledged that Kate was starting school.
Megan added: ‘He said, ‘You can’t send her to school. We’re going to keep her here. How many days is she going to be there?’
“I told him I would only go on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He said, ‘We can keep her. We’ll just schedule our doctor’s appointments on different days.'”
