Imprisoned drug lord Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán reportedly praised President Donald Trump for confronting terror groups in the Middle East and believed that former President Barack Obama was a ‘coward’.

El Chapo’s opinion was revealed by attorney Jeffrey Lichtman, who was part of the defense team representing the co-founder of the Sinaloa Cartel at his trial in New York.

“Believe it or not, El Chapo is a Trump fan,” claimed Lichtman during his performance on the show Len Berman and Michael Riedel In The Morning on WOR 710 radio Monday.

“He appreciated the fact that Trump was tough on Muslim terrorism and thought Obama was a weak coward.”

According to Jeffrey Lichtman, one of the lawyers representing El Chapo, the co-founder of the Sinaloa cartel “ appreciated the fact that Trump was tough on Muslim terrorism and thought Obama was a weak coward. ”

Unsurprisingly, Trump never reciprocated those sentiments.

El Chapo was extradited from Mexico to New York on January 19, 2017, a day before Trump was sworn in as president.

Trump hated El Chapo, El Chapo respected him from afar, added Lichtman.

El Chapo was found guilty on February 10, 2019 and is serving a life sentence in a supermax correctional facility in Colorado. He reportedly raised $ 12.6 billion as the cartel chief, money that federal prosecutors were requesting back from New York.

In the days following El Chapo’s July 2019 conviction, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador indicated that the United States was under an obligation to return the assets it had already seized from the leader of the Sinaloa Cartel. Republican leaders sought drug money from El Chapo to fund Trump’s border wall.

El Chapo’s defense team filed an appeal on Sept. 4, emphasizing that a judge made rulings that allowed a jury to hear false evidence at Guzmán’s trial.

It also cites reports that before reaching a guilty verdict, some jurors sought news reports of sexual abuse allegations against him that were excluded from the trial.

“ The prosecution of Chapo Guzmán was marred by an unbridled outrageous and inordinate reach, both by the government and the judge – unnecessary resorts if he really was the extraordinary protagonist his opponents insisted, ” Guzmán’s lawyers said in the 245 pages. counting appeal, which was submitted to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in New York.
