Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu is defended by Love Island legend after she is brutally ‘cancelled’ by toxic trolls following Celebrity Big Brother eviction

Georgia Steel took to her Instagram account on Friday to defend Ekin-Su Culculoglu after she was ‘cancelled’ by venomous online trolls following her elimination from Celebrity Big Brother.

During the episode, the former Love Island winner, 29, was loudly booed as AJ Odudu and Will Best read out the names of the nominated housemates.

Cruel trolling comments started when Ekin-Su caused controversy in the house after she appeared to be annoyed by Marisha Wallace’s nomination.

But Georgia, 25, who endured similar treatment following her recent appearance on Love Island: All Stars, quickly rushed to her defense on social media.

She said: ‘I just wanted to come here and show some love and support to Ekin Su. I’ve been on the receiving end of trolling and it’s honestly not ok. It can really affect you.

“Yet trolling doesn’t just affect one person, it affects families and friends. Sending hateful comments and threats is just not acceptable.

‘Having an opinion and trolling are two completely different things. People can’t keep getting away with hiding behind a username and sending horrible anonymous messages without consequences.

‘Ekin is a human being with feelings. People forget that like Love Island, CBB is a reality TV show, it’s entertainment. Nobody deserves this.

She concluded “Remember there is power in kindness @ekinsuofficial”.

The Instagram post showing her support for Ekin-Su comes after Georgia became the victim of trolling after she appeared on Love Island All Stars in January.

And her family at the time were her defense as they defended her on social media after she was the target of vicious trolls.

It comes before Celebrity Big Brother fans claimed Ekin-Su may have been ‘cancelled’ following her stint on the rebooted ITV show.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), one viewer said: ‘Nikita, no you’re not getting cancelled. I’m not sure about Ekin-Su’ though.

While another viewer added ‘Ekin-Su will be canceled after this’.

The ‘canceled’ tweets come after Ekin-su’s team issued a plea to Celebrity Big Brother viewers to stop posting abusive messages about her.

The Love Island star was criticized by fans for her ‘hysterical’ crying in Thursday’s episode when Marisha Wallace nominated her in the face-to-face nominees.

She stormed off to bed as theater star Marisha followed her to apologize – raging about her reason for nominating her.

But Ekin-Su’s family and friends have now asked fans to stop criticizing her, saying it was difficult for them to read ‘hateful comments’ and ‘threats of physical abuse’.

In a statement on social media, they wrote: ‘Last night was a really sad episode to watch. Ekin-Su has always nurtured and worn his heart on his sleeve and last night we saw it.

“However, what made last night a thousand times harder is seeing and listening to hateful comments, trolling, name-calling and threats of physical abuse. No one deserves this behavior and to read some of what we did last night.

‘@bbuk is a reality entertainment program edited to entertain us as viewers. We watch one hour of 24 hours every day and the show is a social experiment that has been known to heighten emotions.

‘We would like to thank those of you who have supported Ekin-Su. The love and kind words have not gone unnoticed!

“Please remember, in a world where you can be anything, be kind. Love always, Team Ekin-Su x’.

After Marisha nominated her, Ekin-Su stormed off to bed as theater star Marisha followed her to apologize – raging about her reason for nominating her.

In her nomination, Marisha said: ‘I know if I get to the final I can’t beat you. I know if you make it to the finals with me, you’ll win the public vote.

With Ekin-Su visibly seething, she added: ‘I know if we go head-to-head you have a huge following, you’ve played these games before, you know how to win and if I want to win this if I ever have a chance, I wouldn’t have a chance against you. I know that for sure’.

After Ekin-Su raged: ‘I knew this would happen, this judged me because I’ve been on a show before.

‘You’ve been close to me all along, so you’ve been fake with me all along.’

She then shouted that Marisha could ‘get the crown’ referring to her earlier comment about winning the show.

Then she began to cry, but viewers were quick to label them crocodile tears.

One said: ‘Ekin-Su fake crying into teddy bear for sympathy THIS WOMAN #CBBUK.’

Another said: ‘Ekin-Su cried because her friend Marisha nominated her when 10 minutes before Ekin-Su nominated her FRIEND Louis… #CBB #CBBUK.

A third said: ‘Not Ekin-Su cuddling her teddy and crying like a 9 year old who had her Nintendo DS confiscated #CBBUK.’

A fourth said: ‘Why is Ekin-su crying like that now #CBBUK.’

Another viewer wrote: ‘I swear Ekin-Su used to be an actress. why is she so bad at fake crying #CBBUK.’

Another said: ‘Ekin-Su fake crying for sympathy #CBBUK.’

The confrontation came after housemates were guided to the Kissing Booth where they nominated face to face before sealing each vote with a kiss.

Ekin-Su, David Potts, Fern Britton, Levi Roots and Louis Walsh were the next housemates to face the public vote ahead of Friday night’s double live eviction.

Louis received eight nominations from Bradley, Colson, David, Ekin-Su, Fern, Marisha, Nikita and Zeze.

Ekin-Su received four nominations from Bradley, Fern, Marisha and Zeze. David, Fern and Levi all received two nominations.

David was nominated by Levi and Louis. Fern was nominated by Ekin-Su and Nikita. Levi was nominated by Colson and David.
