Egypt is the fastest growing tourist destination and France is the most visited country, according to new UN figures.
The number of visitors to Egypt rose 55.1 percent to 8.6 million in 2017, a big change.
The number of foreign tourists in Egypt increased from 14.7 million in 2010 to 5.2 million in 2016 after the suspension of flights following the demolition of a Russian charter plane and the turmoil that followed the uprising that overthrew former President Hosni Mubarak

France maintained its No1 2016 ranking in the most visited list with 86.9 million visitors, surpassing Spain in second place (81.8 million) and the United States in third place (75.9 million).
The figures were published by the World Tourism Organization of the United Nations in its annual tourism highlight report.
Egypt attracts tourists such as Giza and Luxor, who come to discover the great pyramids and the Sphinx.
Meanwhile, the resorts around the Red Sea attract visitors looking for a beach vacation and offer spectacular diving.
The second fastest growing destination is the African country of Togo, which registered an increase of 46.7 percent in visitors.
Here, visitors can enjoy the palm-fringed beaches on the Atlantic coast, as well as the lush forests further north.

An increase of 29.1 percent in visitors considers Vietnam, known for its beautiful beaches and rivers, named the third fastest growing destination.
While in fourth place is Palestine, which saw a 25.7 percent increase in tourists in 2017.
Tourists travel to Palestine to visit the holy site of Bethlehem, which houses the Church of the Nativity, as well as the Mar Saba Monastery and the Omar Mosque.
The small island of Niue, in the South Pacific, was completed by the top five fastest growing tourist destinations, and the number of tourists increased by 25.7% in 2017.
Other places that experienced large increases in the number of tourists were Nepal (24.9%, 6th), Israel (24.6%, 7th), the Northern Mariana Islands in the Pacific Ocean (24.3%, 8th), as well as Turkey and Iceland (both 24.1 percent, tied in ninth).

In the list of most visited countries, China ranks fourth with 60.7 million visitors in 2017 and then Italy, which received 58.3 million people.
In sixth place is Mexico with 39.3 million visitors, followed by the United Kingdom with 37.7 million visitors in 2017.
Other countries in the ten most visited destinations are Turkey (37.6 million, 8th), Germany (37.5 million, 9th) and Thailand (35.4 million, 10th).
