- Southwest Houston, Texas resident Katrina Evans was sleeping when two brazen thieves broke into her house and stole medication from her bedroom
- It took four and a half hours for Houston police to respond, she said
- Home security cameras capture two hooded individuals scaling a wall, walking up the stairs and entering Evans’ bedroom
Two masked burglars broke into a Houston woman’s house and stealthily navigated her home to steal medication from her bedroom while she slept.
Katrina Evans, a resident of southwest Houston, Texas, recently opened up about the harrowing experience and shared surveillance footage that captured the daring theft.
‘It’s a fear that never goes away. How do you ever feel safe in your own home again?’ she told the local news station KHOU11.
In the videos captured by Evans’ home surveillance cameras, two hooded individuals can be seen discreetly crossing a wall as they entered the patio.
Another camera located inside Evans’ house reveals intruders walking up the stairs and into the bedroom.

Evans said she believes the alleged burglars broke into her house through a sliding glass door that connects the patio and the home.
“They went into our bedroom and stole things from there and then came into the office where I was sleeping and stood three meters away from me and also stole my medicine,” she said.
The couple also allegedly stole her son’s PlayStation game console, Evans said, adding that she slept through the incident.
“They could have killed me, anything could have happened, they could have come back,” Evans said.
After realizing her medication was missing, Evans called her husband, who helped retrieve footage from security cameras.
Despite Evans immediately reporting to the Houston Police Department, the suspects got away with the crime.
“(My husband) started pulling up the camera footage and that’s when we knew and we called HPD right away and it took four and a half hours for them to get out here,” she said.
“It was disappointing, it doesn’t make me feel any safer,” she said of the authorities’ response to the incident.

Evans mentioned that one of the suspects looks familiar. She thinks it’s someone who lives nearby, and she might even know the person.
The day after the alleged burglary, Evans even saw one of the suspects in the same area, but it again took hours for authorities to respond.
This is not the first time Evans has experienced theft. Prior to the gruesome break-in, Evans had her car broken into and the tires on her husband’s car were stolen.
She now has a personal alarm and has installed door stops and real-time video cameras at home.
“So all I can do is put more locks and more alarms and more cameras and hope it works, which I shouldn’t,” she said.
