EE network is online again after crashing in the UK

Telephone network EE is back online after it crashed in Britain earlier today.

It went down for thousands of users this morning and frustrated customers went on Twitter to complain.

Many customers regretted their inability to use the provider's mobile internet network and were restricted in making or receiving texts or phone calls.

The power cut is believed to have started around 8:00 am & BST, according to Down Detector, a site that tracks problems and outages in internet services.

A huge peak in the reports can be seen on the failure report on the website between 9 am and 10 am & # 39;

It seemed to affect all EE telephones in many UK cities, including London, Manchester and Bristol.

An EE spokesperson told MailOnline: “Earlier today, some customers experienced periodic problems when calling with 4G.

& # 39; Data services and text messages were unaffected, allowing customers to go online and use apps and messaging services normally.

& # 39; The problem is resolved within a few hours for the majority of those affected and normal service has been restored for everyone.

& # 39; We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience caused because this is not the high standard of service they are used to from us. & # 39;

Users complained to Down Detector, with one writing: & # 39; Unable to call, text or no mobile data … somewhat frustrating. Not sure why I pay £ 50 a month for a service that is not offered! & # 39;

The problem seemed to persist despite shutting down his phone and removing the app.

The official EE Twitter account advises users to restart their smartphones, but does not seem to know why the problem occurs.

The company has not made a public statement about the issue and MailOnline has approached them for comment.

In a message to several customers who contacted the company on Twitter, EE said: & We are aware that a small number of customers are unable to make a call via 4G.
