Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bove said he “feels good” and that the support he received from fans, teammates and rivals helped him recover after being placed in a medically induced coma.
Bove collapsed on the field during a match against Inter Milan on December 1.
“It’s times like these that I understand how genuine this sport is and how, beyond the results, the competition and the rivalries, we are all connected,” Bove posted on Instagram on Monday in his first public comments since the incident.
‘Connected by a bond that, once created, strengthens in difficult times and becomes almost unbreakable.
“I have experienced it firsthand these last few days: the love I have received, the warmth of the fans, the support of teammates and opponents and the closeness of the ENTIRE football world have given me incredible strength and courage” , Bove added.
‘I felt surrounded by positive energy, which helped me stay calm and not feel the loneliness that often arises in situations like this.’

Bove thanked fans for their support during ‘these difficult days’ as he opened up on Instagram.
Bove, 22, was released from the hospital on Friday, but will not be able to play again in Italy if he needs a defibrillator for his heart.
In Italy it is prohibited to play with a defibrillator.
But Bove could follow former Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen, who resumed his career in the English Premier League after suffering cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark at Euro 2021 and having a defibrillator implanted.
‘I feel good and that’s the most important thing!’ Bove said. ‘See you soon… In the field!’
Footage has now emerged of Bove making a tearful entrance at the Serie A team’s training ground as the rest of the players, sitting before a meeting, applauded him and applauded his arrival.
Before a Coppa Italia match last week, in which Empoli beat Fiorentina 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw between the two teams, the staff, players and fans showed their I support Bove in heartfelt scenes at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.
Spectators put on a tifo display in honor of Bove, colorfully displaying a banner with the number 4, his uniform number, while others held up scarves to express their support.
Bove joined Fiorentina on loan from Roma in August with the option to make the transfer permanent.
