The daughter of Beatrice and Edo, currently tenth in line to the throne, turned two years old on September 18.
Royal fans first caught a glimpse of Sienna earlier this year when her aunt, Princess Eugenie, posted a photo on Instagram of the little tot with her cousin August (Eugenie’s eldest son), as they looked fascinated by the penguin enclosure at London Zoo.
Weighing 6 pounds 2 ounces, Sienna arrived on September 18, 2021 at 11:42 p.m. at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.
Sienna is a name of Italian origin, perhaps chosen due to Edo roots. Meaning “orange-red”, it could also refer to the Duchess of York’s flamboyant hair.
Beatrice, who had a close relationship with her late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, decided to honor her by including Elizabeth in Sienna’s name.
Although Beatrice is a princess, her daughter Sienna, who is the late queen’s 12th great-grandchild, does not have a royal title.
Only the monarch’s grandchildren through the male line are automatically entitled to the title of HRH. King Charles could confer a title on his great-niece if he wished, but he is unlikely to ask for it.
Sienna is currently placed tenth in the royal line, under her mother Princess Beatrice.

This change means that Beatrice’s younger sister, Princess Eugenie, moves to eleventh place.
Sienna will, however, receive a title from her father’s family, as the little girl has another nobility in her blood.
His father, Edo, was descended from Italian aristocracy and would inherit the family seat, the 18th-century Villa Mapelli Mozzi palace in northern Italy.
This makes Beatrice and Sienna Italian “Contessas” and “Nobile Donnas”. Such titles are no longer officially recognized in Italy. However, they can still be used as a sign of respect.
When the couple announced Sienna’s name in October 2021, Edoardo shared a print of their daughter’s feet and wrote, “Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi.” Our life together has just begun and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things that await us.
“I feel so much love and gratitude for my wonderful wife, my little Sienna and (her half-brother) Wolfie. These are days I never want to forget. This week a friend told me the sweetest saying…. that with each child, a whole new heart develops.
Later, the royal family’s official social media page posted the same image, with the caption: “The couple said: ‘We are all doing well and Wolfie is the best big brother to Sienna.’
Sienna was baptized on April 29, 2022 at the Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace. This was revealed by Good morning in May, nutritionist Gabriela Peacock is one of the young royal’s godfathers – with Beatrice also being godmother to his daughter, Iris.
