Troubled Peaky Blinders star Paul Anderson’s acting company is over £17,500 in the red.

The actor, 46, who played Arthur Shelby in the BBC’s Brummie gangster drama, revealed his assets fell to £70,999.

Although he is owed some money for work done and royalties, the star was landed with a tax bill and other claims totaling £88,561, putting the company in the red.

Newly published figures for his performing arts company, Boycey Pictures Ltd, cover the 12 months to the end of March 2023 and show that the previous year had a positive balance of £3,775.

Paul appeared at a north London magistrates’ court in January charged with possessing crack cocaine, amphetamines and two prescription drugs.

His lawyer denied his client had smoked the highly addictive drug, but Paul admitted possession and was fined £1,345.

Doc Martin star fights seaweed farm plan

Martin Clunes, whose ITV drama Doc Martin attracted droves of tourists to Port Isaac in Cornwall, where it was filmed, has called plans to build a giant seaweed farm off the coast ‘nothing short of criminal’.

The project by Biome Algae and Camel Fish Ltd is to create two seaweed farms the size of 140 football pitches.

‘It’s a hideous plan, in a beautiful and special area,’ claims the actor. ‘It was waved through without consultation or proper assessment of its environmental impact.’

In its filings, Biome Algae said: ‘Seaweed has many benefits for the marine environment, such as restoring habitats and increasing marine life. It is expected that the farm will have a positive economic effect within the region.’

Some locals have launched a campaign against the proposal due to fears that the farms will not only blight the landscape of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, but will impact on fragile ecosystems and wildlife as well as tourism.

Cinders star Lily has a (snow) ball

Lily James was once caught canoodling with The Crown’s married star Dominic West on a sunny day in Rome.

Still, it seems the Surrey-born star of Downton Abbey and Cinderella likes to have fun in colder temperatures too.

The actress, 34, shared this photo of herself frolicking in the snow during a trip to Yellowknife, Canada.

Lily mixes business with pleasure as she hits the town as a global ambassador for the Natural Diamond Council.

She will investigate the social and environmental responsibility of the diamond mining industry.

Former Doctor Who star Jodie Whittaker says she’s not a good choice as a contestant on the latest Celebrity Bake Off as she can’t cook and once poisoned her husband – with a takeaway pizza.

The actress, 41, says: ‘I once made my husband really sick. I sprayed the kitchen counter top with a surface cleaner and forgot to wipe it down.

‘A pizza arrived and I put it on its side so the cleaner soaked it. He got really sick, so it’s a bit of a disaster. I’ve never baked anything other than a cake mix. I’m nervous in the tent for possible poisoning scenarios.’
