I can reveal that the 61-year-old author, who writes under the name EL James, topped up her bank account with a £2.9m dividend from Fifty Shades Limited, the private company she funnels her royalties into. According to recently published figures, the payout, in the year to last September, left her with a staggering £66.5m in shareholders’ funds in the company she set up in 2012.
In addition to the millions he made from Fifty Shades, he owns £4.6m in Erika James Ltd, as well as properties in Cornish Sandcastles Ltd.
