Guests strolled past the donor’s collection of Ferraris and Porsches, which were parked in the driveway of the couple’s estate in Daylesford, Gloucestershire.
Seven hundred guests, including Sarah, Duchess of York, Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Lord (David) Cameron and his wife, Samantha, and Dame Joan Collins, enjoyed entertainment provided by Sir Van Morrison, nightclub legend Nile Rodgers and DJ Pete Tong.
The theme was 1974, the year the Bamfords got married.

Lord Bamford, 78, reminded guests that Carole had told him after the romance blossomed: “I’m in love with two men – you’re one of them, the other is Elvis.” She was referring to the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, who was still alive at the time.
Their youngest son, George, told guests that he came home one night to find his parents singing and dancing to Right Said Fred’s I’m Too Sexy.
