Eddie Hearn claims boxing great Floyd Mayweather looked ‘TERRIBLE’ in his exhibition against YouTuber Logan Paul as he questions the American’s status as ‘the best ever’ and insists the fight was ‘bad’ for the sport
Eddie Hearn was shocked by Floyd Mayweather’s ‘terrible’ performance against YouTuber Logan Paul on Sunday night.
Mayweather, who retired from boxing in 2017 with a perfect 50-0 record, was surprisingly unable to stop Paul at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
The rookie survived the full eight rounds of their exhibition game, forcing Hearn to question Mayweather and how his performance affected the sport.

Hearn said Mayweather has damaged his reputation and young fans will question his legacy.
Speaking on the DAZN Boxing ShowHearn said: ‘This never felt comfortable to me, the person this looked worse on than anyone else, and probably doesn’t care, is Floyd Mayweather.
He looked terrible. If you’re a young fan, you’ll see Floyd Mayweather last night saying to you, “He was the best ever?”
“I know Logan was hugging Paul, but I don’t know, I’ve always said from the outside it looks bad for the sport.”
The rookie YouTuber managed to last the full eight rounds against Mayweather, 44, on Sunday
Eddie Hearn says he was shocked by Mayweather’s ‘terrible’ performance against Paul
After the fight, Mayweather admitted he may never fight again after failing to beat 26-year-old Paul.
The YouTuber entered the fight with just one pro fight to his name, while Mayweather had stopped UFC superstar Conor McGregor in ten rounds to maintain his perfect 50-0 record.
Mayweather dominated the game at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, but failed to deliver that all-important blow.
However, Mayweather threw some powerful shots and would have won convincingly on points had there been judges.
Hearn also shared his thoughts on the turnout at the fight, saying he… expected many more tickets to be sold for the event.

Mayweather admitted he won’t be allowed to do another exhibition after taking the distance
Though he believes the match did very well in terms of pay-per-view, despite reports claiming Mayweather is unlikely to make a $100 million payday from the fight.
Mayweather said he could earn a whopping $100 million (£71 million) in total from the fight, while Paul would reportedly make in the region of $26 million (£14 million) when PPV figures and everything else were responsible.
However, an expert in calculating pay-per-view purchases has claimed between 600,000 and 650,000 purchases, although the numbers at this early stage are a very rough estimate.
Nevertheless, Hearn said, ‘What has happened to the world? I didn’t stay up to look, I woke up in the middle of the night to check my Twitter.
“I couldn’t believe how few tickets they sold. It’s a little weird. I’m sure it performed well on pay per view, but it seemed like no one was there.
Hearn gave Paul his pro boxing break at a 2019 Los Angeles Matchroom event against KSI
Hearn also says he has no problem with Paul then fighting Tyron Woodley (above)
‘That was my first thought. I just saw some clips and I thought, “What happened?” It sparked an interesting debate.
“I saw Ricky Hatton say he was pretty shocked. As a promoter I have learned not to criticize too much, because you never know what you will do in the future.’
Hearn gave Paul his pro boxing break, which saw him headline a Matchroom event in Los Angeles against KSI in 2019.
Two years later, the promoter says he’s impressed with the YouTuber’s application to the sport and would love to pit Paul against Tyron Woodley.
He said: ‘I don’t mind Jake Paul against Tyron Woodley, he takes the sport seriously. They are on the same level.’
