Eddie Hearn does not step back in his row with Kell Brook after the Matchroom chief attacked the former IBF welterweight champion for “ loyalty. ”
The Sheffield-born fighter will face King Terence Crawford on November 14, after signing as a free agent with Bob Arum’s Top Rank, a direct competitor of Hearn and Matchroom.
The fight will be broadcast on Premier Sport, unlike Sky Sports, with which Matchroom has an exclusive agreement.
Eddie Hearn has a hit with Kell Brook amid Sky Sports feud and won’t show his next fight
Brook has boxed on Sky for much of his career, and despite signing with Arum, revealed that he was disappointed that Hearn didn’t help close a deal to show the fight on Sky.
‘I’ve always been a Sky Sports fighter, competed with Shawn Porter, Errol Spence, Golovkin. I had great nights with Sky Sports.
‘The fans, I want to give back to people who subscribe to Sky Sports, I want my fans to see me fight the king of pound for pound in Crawford.
“But it’s not the way I wanted it to come off, so I’m absolutely gutted.”
Brook signed with Bob Arum for the match at Terence Crawford, which will take place at Premier Sport
Brook wanted to box against Sky, adding that he got Hearn out of prison with the Golovkin match
Brook also claimed he had it [Hearn] out of jail “to agree with Gennady Golovkin in 2016 and that he was” more interested in signing books, “with the promoter releasing a book this month.
And Hearn has hit back on Brook’s comments, insisting that “once you turn your back on me, you’ll never turn and walk back.”
“I was really disappointed to be honest with you, and I was pretty mad,” he said iFL TV. I’ll say this because I feel like 99 percent of what was said was totally b *******. I feel like I have to give you the truth.
Let’s start with the Crawford fight and the Sky situation – when Amir Khan Terence Crawford was boxing, Kell Brook flew out and spoke to Top Rank.
He probably had meetings with Top Rank about that fight and probably other fights too, which honestly didn’t go very well for me. I am an all or nothing kind of man.
‘I was never involved in any conversation they had with Top Rank about this fight, no consultation, no opinion of mine, no part of the negotiation of the deal.
Hearn said Brooks comments were ‘b *******’ and gave examples of his past loyalty
They chose to do all of this themselves. Was it because they wouldn’t pay me? Or did they want to go their separate ways?
‘Once you’ve turned your back on me, never turn and walk back to me. You’re either with me or you’re not. ‘
The Matchroom chief then launched a devastating attack on his former fighter, giving examples of when he showed total loyalty to the 34-year-old.
“When you’re with me, I’ll give you everything I did for that young man for eight years.
When I talk about loyalty, I’m talking about being in the hospital with him when he put on the weight and not even training for Carson Jones. Sitting in that hospital until five or six in the morning.
Hearn added that he showed loyalty by putting up fights for Brook, like Mark DeLuca
About flying to Fuerteventura at 4am to deal with him and be in the hospital with the police there.
“I’ve been to his house dozens of times, sat in his kitchen with him and his dad, trying to get his career back on track.
So don’t talk to me about loyalty. And what your loyalty is – after having to give you fights against Jo Jo Dan, Kevin Bizier, Sergey Rabchenko, Michael Zerafa, Mark DeLuca, fights I’ve done over the years – you’ve made the decision to put you back on me .
‘I don’t have a problem with that, but once you do, you’re gone, I don’t have to fight for you anymore.
‘Don’t come back if it doesn’t work out and that’s what they did. They chose not to involve me in this fight and when they couldn’t sell it to a UK partner they came to me, ‘Oh, I really wanted it on Sky for the fans.’
Don’t talk b *******. You wanted the most money you could get. This is reality. ‘
