Ed Sheeran shocks fans as he makes a surprise see to a bar in New Zealand ahead of his trip

Ed Sheeran surprised fans as he visited a local pub in New Zealand on Sunday.

The English singer-songwriter, 31, made a surprise appearance at the Brac and Bow restaurant in the town of Featherston.

The venue shared a photo to Facebook of manager Debbie Sinclair meeting the singer during his visit over the weekend.

‘THE GOSS IS OUT! Our beautiful Debs got to meet her idol yesterday @bracnbow Mr Ed Sheeran in little old Featherston, enjoying a pint!’ the caption read.

Debbie told Stuff, she didn’t initially recognise Ed when he ordered two glasses of Castle Lager and fries.

After he finished his meal, she asked him for a photo and he gladly agreed.

‘I’m one lucky person that I got the chance to be that close.’

The four-time Grammy winner, known for his hits Thinking Out Loud and Bad Habits, will perform at Sky Stadium in Wellington on February 2 and Eden Park in Auckland on February 10.

He will then head to Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on February 17; Accor Stadium in Sydney on February 24 and the MCG in Melbourne on March 2.

Ed will also perform at the Adelaide Oval on March 7; and Optus Stadium in Perth on March 12.
