The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast cloudy skies and warm temperatures across most of Australia this Easter long weekend.

It’s looking like a warm weekend in Sydney with temperatures expected to stay in the mid-20s. Sydneysiders can expect cloudy days, but the rain is expected to persist until Monday.

Melburnians will also enjoy a few pleasant days, starting the weekend with clear skies and a pleasant 29C on Good Friday, but temperatures are expected to drop to 21C on Monday.

In Darwin, the forecast is for a wetter, wet and stormier Easter, with showers and thunderstorms predicted.

On Monday, temperatures in the Top End are forecast to rise to 34C before falling to 24C overnight, and the Bureau of Meteorology predicts Darwin can expect 15 millimeters of rain over Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
