Future and Metro Boomin’s new album has already sparked controversy and the discussion has only intensified after Cole’s latest collaboration with the pair.

Fans were left baffled after Cole dropped a verse in his song Red Leather, with many speculating that J Cole is being disloyal to his industry friend Drake.

This comes after many hip-hop lovers assumed that tensions were brewing between Canadian rapper Future and Metro.

Rumors about an alleged feud between Metro and Drake began swirling after the pair subtly went back and forth online.

Speculation then exploded when Kendrick Lamar openly criticized rapper Passionfruit and J Cole on Metro Boomin and Future’s song Like That.

Igniting the rap, Lamar took multiple lyrical jabs at both Drake and J Cole, furiously rapping the standout line: “Motherf**k the big three, n***a, I’m just a big me.”

The line was apparently a direct response to a bar Cole dropped in his collaboration with Drake called First Person Shooter.

‘I love it when they argue about the hardest MC / Is it K. Dot? [Kendrick]? Is it Aubrey? [Drake]? Or me? / Us, the big three, it’s like we started a league,” J Cole said.

Following the Compton rapper’s tirade towards his two bandmates, J Cole released a response track titled Seven Minute Drill.

During the song, he criticized Kendrick for seeking attention, stating that the Poetic Justice rapper had fallen “like The Simpsons.”

Calling Lamar’s most recent album, Mr Morale and the Big Steppers, “tragic,” Cole warned his colleague to put aside the name-calling.

However, it was two days later that the rapper seemingly came forward to apologize for his displeasure, calling it the most “dumb” and “silly” song he’s ever made.

Praising Good Kid Mad City’s catalog of artists, Cole apologized when he took the stage at the Dreamville Festival in North Carolina.

“I’m not going to lie to you, the last two days felt terrible,” he told the crowd.

Although Metro has recently dispelled rumors about tensions between the two, fans have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to share their hilariously surprised reactions to J Cole appearing on the duo’s new song due to his friendship with Drake.

Photoshopping Drake’s face onto the body of a disgruntled Thanos, one joked: “Drake after seeing J Cole is on the Metro and Future album.”

The caption for an image of a confused man in front of a complicated electrical cabinet was:

“Drake tries to figure out how he’s going to diss Future, Metro Boomin, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole and ASAP Rocky”.

Another imagined Drake’s shock at the collaboration, captioning a photo of a woman suddenly falling over with: “Drake after finding out J Cole betrayed him.”

One fan criticized the Canadian musician and his fans’ confusion over Cole’s most recent release.

Alongside an image of a confused man, they wrote: “Drake fans wake up to J Cole on We Still Can’t Trust You.”
