Early Super Bowl LIX picks, QB confidence meter & Aaron Rodgers skipping NFL preseason | Inside Coverage

In this episode of Internal coverageJason Fitz and Frank Schwab break down some of the most confusing QB situations in the NFL and rate them on a made-up confidence meter, but first…

The Bears signed WR DJ Moore to the largest contract in team history, and everyone agrees it’s a good deal and a smart move for both sides.

It appears Aaron Rodgers will not play in the NFL preseason with the New York Jets after missing all of last season with a torn Achilles tendon. How will he shake off the rust? Is this a sign that the team, or the player, is in control of the situation?

Finally, it’s time to get into the QB confidence meter. The guys start off in San Francisco, where Frank says the 49ers shouldn’t pay Brock Purdy or any QB who isn’t on a rookie contract. That’s a bold idea!

Fitz says Russell Wilson is done in Pittsburgh, but even if Russ plays well this year… what happens? The Steelers don’t want to pay him what the market says he’s worth. Another unknown is Indianapolis, where Anthony Richardson has sky-high potential but hasn’t played much over the past two seasons.

Fitz says Joe Burrow is the second-best quarterback in the NFL, but there will still be questions about whether he can stay healthy. Meanwhile, the Vikings are banking on a rookie quarterback who barely threw a ball in college.

As for Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix, both agree he needs to be a starter for Sean Payton’s team right away. Fitz has some work to do to back up his claim that Bo Nix is the next Nathan Peterman.

Finally, we put Frank on “Schwab Island” and have him defend his Super Bowl LIX pick before Fitz gives his own pick for who will take home the Lombardi Trophy.
