Eamonn Holmes made a brave face when he returned to the front with his wife Ruth Langsford on Tuesday after describing his condition with chronic pain.
The presenter, 61, – who had an MRI scan last week and is awaiting his diagnosis – said his condition is “ too difficult to explain ” after Ruth said viewers had asked how he was doing.
Eamonn replied, “Since the last time I saw you, I’m doing really well, thank you for asking.”

He continued: ‘It’s too difficult to explain. We are not here to talk about my problems and my pain. ‘
Eamonn returned from undergoing tests at the hospital on Friday after struggling with chronic “ pain he has never experienced in his life. ” The presenter has said he “needs to know what causes him pain” all over his body and has revealed that he is not yet diagnosed.
And Ruth, 61, admitted it would take longer than the run time of the episode to explain Eamonn’s condition. She said, “We could be here all day. We only have two and a half hours. ‘

On Tuesday evening, Eamonn revealed that he had undergone a second physical session of the day and was advised to take his second cold shower of the day.
He wrote on Twitter: ‘Physio just left after the 2nd session of the day. He said my body was hot … and as a result I had to cool off with my 2nd cold shower of the day ….. Let’s hope it helps me sleep well Zzzzź (sic) ‘
Earlier in the day, Eamonn admitted to having undergone a 4:30 am physio session prior to co-hosting This Morning.
He tweeted: ‘Hey, busy day so far ….. 1 hour physio at 4.30am to get fit for today’s #ThisMorning …. followed by the Cold shower routine! All of this will kill or heal me. So far, so good and remember I’m going to share your #ChronicPain stories and advice. (sic) ‘
It was on Monday’s episode that Eamonn admitted his suffering was due to a back injury.
Despite asking Clodagh what the segment had to do with her, Eamonn went on to say she could be the ‘sexiest chef on the internet’ if something ‘went wrong’.
He said, ‘Those of you who follow me on social media will know, about a month ago I did something with my back, I don’t know how I did it, get in the car, get out of a car, get out of bed , whatever.
‘I have an MRI scan, but the problem is everything closes for Easter, I haven’t analyzed it yet, but what I do know is that I can’t sleep at night.
The pain is definitely worse at night. The humiliating thing is that if you go on social media and talk to people who suffer from this, age is not a barrier, where you live is not a barrier, how much you earn is not a barrier. ‘

Eamonn’s situation prompted a phone call on the show about chronic pain.
He added: “Many of you have this chronic pain situation, from all kinds of different sources. So let’s talk about this, let’s talk to each other, let’s talk to a doctor, let’s talk to a pain expert.
“I’ve had this for a month, I hope I won’t have this much longer, but there are people who have lived with chronic pain their entire lives.”
