Eagles vs Steelers predictions for Week 15 of the NFL season originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia
The Eagles (11-2) host the Pittsburgh Steelers (10-3) at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday afternoon.
Let’s get to the predictions:
Ruben Frank (7-6)
It would be an easy pick against the Eagles this week. They face a Steelers team that is 10-3 and in first place in the AFC North, has won seven of its last eight games, has a 4-0 record in the NFL against winning teams, has a likely Hall of Fame quarterback, the No. 5 scoring defense and has allowed just one 100-yard rusher. Considering the off-field drama surrounding the Eagles this week, there seems to be a lot of conspiracy against the Eagles. But despite all that, I choose the Eagles. This team is so talented, so focused, and a legitimate Super Bowl contender, and a close win over the Panthers or some unfortunate comments from Brandon Graham did nothing to change my opinion on it. I think things are good between Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown, and while I have concerns about the passing game and Jake Elliott, I still think the Eagles are going to keep things going this weekend. Ten straight wins would be the longest winning streak in franchise history, and with only the Commanders, Cowboys and Giants surviving the Steelers, a win on Sunday would make a 13-game winning streak to end the season a realistic goal. . This is a difficult question. One of the Eagles’ biggest challenges this year and I think they will be prepared to meet it.

This should be a fun game between two physical teams. Maybe some of this week’s drama makes you feel differently about the Eagles, but I’m not there. They are still on a nine-game winning streak and the formula of running the ball and playing strong defense is working. Sure, the passing game should be better than it was against the Panthers, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of talent on their roster. I think they can figure it out. The Eagles are the most talented team in this game. The Eagles defense continues to be a tough matchup for the Steelers, especially without top receiver George Pickens. I hope Vic Fangio’s defense has a good game on Saturday. And while it may not be a 30-point game for the Eagles’ offense, they should be able to put up enough points to win this game and extend that winning streak to 10 games, which would be a new single-game franchise record. season.

Barrett Brooks (10-3)
The focus is here! The Eagles will be ready and focused for the battle of Pennsylvania. All the additional outside interference has galvanized this team. This game will probably be boring to casual fans. But I love watching these defensive battles. The checks and balances used to stop these two offenses is what I expect to see this Sunday. The Steelers have the fourth-ranked run defense. But the Eagles’ offense has already defeated the Ravens’ No. 1 run defense. My key matchup will be a battle of the titans, TJ Watt vs. Lane Johnson. Whoever wins this battle will probably win the game.

Mike Mulhern (10-3)
Just when it looked like the Eagles might have a smooth march toward the postseason, a drama-filled week grabbed the headlines. It wasn’t just a “passing” comment from AJ Brown, either. He highlighted the team’s offensive woes for a reason. Scoring 83 yards through the air against the lowly Panthers is worth pointing the finger at, and I expect there to be immediate adjustments on Sunday against the Steelers. Mike Tomlin’s group plays a lot of man coverage with just one tall safety, so expect Jalen Hurts to have plenty of opportunities to get the ball to his (former?) best friend. Brown led the Steelers for 156 yards and three touchdowns in the 2022 season. He won’t reach those marks, but he expects a big day for No. 11.
On the other hand, Russell Wilson will be without his main target, George Pickens, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury. It’s a significant blow for a Steelers offense that likes to take deep shots. Najee Harris will rack up yards much like Chuba Hubbard did on Sunday for the Panthers, but Pittsburgh will have a hard time coming up with big plays. It will be the bounce-back game the Eagles need.
