A photographer has made incredible photos of an eagle catching a snake before tearing the 4ft poisonous cobra apart.

Gowathaman Ganesan, 48, watched as the bird of prey ate the snake in August at Lake Thenneri in Kanchipuram district, India.

The entrepreneur said it was cloudy on the outskirts of the district when the female, short-cut Snake Eagle flew by looking for prey.
