Tottenham fans were left stunned after seeing star defender Cristian Romero smile while chatting to Pep Guardiola after Manchester City’s victory over Spurs.
City took a big step towards securing a record fourth Premier League title by beating Tottenham 2-0 on Tuesday, while also knocking Spurs out of the Champions League race as Aston Villa secured fourth place in the board.
Romero has enjoyed a stellar season at the heart of Ange Postecoglou’s defense and, despite being beaten, appeared to be in good spirits as he chatted to City manager Guardiola.
The combative Argentine centre-back was largely at fault for City’s first goal after being easily beaten in a race with Phil Foden before Erling Haaland gave the visitors the lead.
He was also involved in another flashpoint in the second half after colliding with the head of City goalkeeper Ederson, forcing the Brazilian to withdraw for fear of concussion.

The 26-year-old smiled back at the Spaniard before looking around with a smile on his face as other Tottenham players looked dejected following the defeat.
