Apple last week launched the iPhone XS, the iPhone XS Max and the iPhone XR and one of the new features that are shared by these phones is dual SIM functionality. Apple has implemented this via an eSIM and a normal nano-sized SIM card, with China being the exception for getting a model with dual nano SIM cards.
However, it seems that the model that is being released in the United Arab Emirates will not have any form of dual SIM capabilities, either via a physical SIM card or via eSIM. The following information was posted by the local telco du on their FAQ page about the iPhone XS:
"E-SIM / dual SIM handsets are not available in UAE"
We could not find anything related to the above on Etisalat & # 39; s website for the iPhone XS, but have contacted both Apple and Etisalat to confirm.
Apple does not use eSIM capabilities on the iPhone XS at launch, but it is expected to be available through a future software update. However, the information published by du suggests that the iPhone XS sold in the region will not get these options.
