Bay Area rap legend E-40, better known as Earl Stevens, alleged “racial bias” was the reason he was kicked out of Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center during the fourth quarter of a Kings-Warriors game Saturday night.
E-40 put out a statement on social media Sunday morning relaying his version of events as a video surfaced on social media of him arguing with security and other fans as he was removed.
“I was disrespectfully harassed over the course of the Warriors-Kings game in Sacramento,” E-40 wrote in the statement.
During the fourth quarter, I finally turned around and spoke to a reviewer in a firm but polite manner. However, shortly thereafter, Kings security approached me, assumed I had instigated the confrontation and proceeded to kick me out of the ring.
Unfortunately, it was yet another reminder that – despite my success and accolades as a musician and entrepreneur – racial prejudice still prevails.

Security saw an argument between a black man and a white woman and immediately assumed I was at fault.
I am completely humiliated by the security team at Kings and I invite the franchise to investigate the horrific behavior that occurred.
The artist of “Tell Me When to Go” is from Vallejo, California. A native of and known for his passion for his hometown Warriors and San Francisco Giants.
Golden State fell short on a win Saturday night, losing 126-123 as Sacramento won its first playoff game in 17 years.
The Warriors stand a chance of a 1-1 tie Monday night at the same stadium. It is not yet clear if E-40 will ever make it home again.
