A daughter has filmed the touching moment when she gave her father one last shot of Bundaberg Rum before dying in hospital.

Pennelope Anne sat with her mother while her father lay in a bed connected to tubing in the palliative care unit.

Mrs. Anne then pulled out a can of her father’s favorite drink before filming herself and measuring a small shot with a syringe.

“I came prepared for the broadcast,” she says in the video. “Give him a taste here.”

Her mother leans over to the bed and explains gently that they will give him one last drink.

“We brought you rum, Daddy,” she says. “We’re going to put it in the injection and put it in your mouth.”

Mrs. Anne squeezes the liquid into her father’s mouth while he remains motionless.

‘Tastes good?’ she asks.

Her father moves and gently nods his head before Mrs. Anne and her mother giggle.

‘Yes, yes,’ says Mrs Anne. “Damn yes!”

Footage of the heartbreaking moment has been uploaded to TikTok, where it has been viewed more than 317,000 times.

Social media users have praised the family’s actions.

‘Everyone ultimately deserves such a family around them. I’m sorry for your loss,” one wrote.

Another person added: ‘As a former palliative care nurse, this makes me so happy – cheers Grandpa.’

Other social media users wondered how Ms. Anne was allowed to bring alcohol into the hospital.

Mrs Anne replied that she hid the can in her coat and then closed the door behind her before measuring out the last shot.
