Dwayne The Rock Johnson pays tribute to WWE star Shad Gaspard after his body was washed in Venice Beach

Also known as The Rock from his wrestling days, Dwayne Johnson paid a heartfelt tribute to WWE star Shad Gaspard after his body washed up on Venice Beach on Wednesday.

Gaspard had been missing for three days after being dragged out by a riptide during a swim with his 10-year-old son at sea.

Johnson said “This hurts” in a post on Instagram, where he admitted the loss was hard to handle.

Johnson praised Gaspard as a “ great guy ” and a loving father for asking lifeguards to save his son for him first, just before the wrestler was overtaken by the surf. My deepest condolences and love for Shad Gaspard’s wife, son and family, Johnson wrote in the post.

“Shad drowned in the ocean, but not before instructing lifeguards to rescue his 10-year-old son,” explains Johnson.

“That’s a father’s love,” he adds. “This is difficult to process.”

Johnson signs with “Love and light to Shad’s family” and tells Gaspard, “Your warrior spirit lives on through your son.

Gaspard’s devastated wife and family gathered on Venice Beach on Wednesday, hours after the missing father’s body was washed up on the shore.

The remains of the 39-year-old wrestler were discovered on Wednesday morning, three days after he was dragged out to sea by a riptide during a swim with his ten-year-old son.

The Los Angeles County coroner’s office said Gaspard was found on the surf line at 2600 Ocean Walk – a mile north of where he supposedly drowned on Sunday.

His 11-year-old wife, Siliana Gaspard, was seen hours later where her husband washed ashore at night, surrounded by loved ones.

Heartbroken friends and relatives were photographed hugging and comforting each other as they came together on the sand to mourn the athlete. Gaspard’s young son, Aryeh, was not with them.

Video footage taken on-site Wednesday morning showed authorities surrounding Gaspard’s lifeless body as it lay on the sand.

LAPD and LAFD were called to the beach at around 2 a.m. after two people discovered a corpse on the beach at 1.25 p.m. halfway between Venice Beach pier and lifeguard headquarters, police said.

“The deceased was identified as Shad Gaspard and the next of kin were notified,” LAPD said in a statement.

Gaspard, 39, had reportedly told lifeguards to first rescue his son, who was taken out of the water in good condition and didn’t require hospitalization.

But lifeguards couldn’t save Gaspard, who was about 50 yards off the coast when a wave hit him and pulled him into the ocean.

His body was identified and transported to the LA County Coroner’s office, Kenichi Haskett, head of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Lifeguard Services said.

Haskett revealed that Gaspard had pulled about 75 to 100 meters from the coast in an instant.

As Memorial weekend approached, he warned beachgoers to stay safe and aware of the water conditions.

While most beaches generally have signs or flags to indicate safe or unsafe swimming conditions, this type of warning system does not work on the Venice Beach shoreline.

“I’ve been a lifeguard of the ocean since 1994 and worked on Venice Beach during this time and am now a full-time lifeguard and chef. I can say that our conditions change every hour, if not within a moment,” he told DailyMail.com .

“It could be yellow where we put that flag, and in a moment it will be red because a rip current has now surfaced. So what we do instead is man the lifeguard towers in those areas.

“The flag system is not currently the best system for saving lives and protecting people. We talk to people, we warn people, we take preventive measures where people can swim. ‘

Siliana Gaspard made a statement on Instagram on Tuesday thanking the authorities for their efforts while continuing to hope for her husband’s safe return.

“We would like to express our gratitude to the first responders who rescued Aryeh and to the lifeguards, coastguard, divers, firefighters and police for their continued efforts to help find our beloved Shad,” the statement said.

“Shad is a fighter, a warrior and a magical soul. We hope and pray for his safe return. As a family, we thank you all for your concern and good wishes. Please continue to send your positivity and prayers to our beloved Shad. ‘

The U.S. Coast Guard confirmed on Tuesday that it was no longer assisting with the search and that the investigation was being led by LAPD.

Tributes have arrived from struggling stars, including Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Titus O’Neill and Triple H, after news of the discovery broke.

“My prayers and hopes for Shad Gaspard’s wife, son and family in this unimaginable time. Man, this is a difficult one. A very difficult one. Great guy, ”The Rock tweeted.

“I join fans around the world as we remember Shad Gaspard as a much-loved artist and a caring father. In absolutely tragic circumstances, keep loved ones on your mind, ”Triple H said.

On Monday evening, friends made a statement on behalf of the family thanking the public for their support.

‘[Shad’s] family appreciates all love, support and concern through this terrible ordeal. At the moment, they are not ready to make public or official statements to a media channel and are asking all of them to respect their wishes, ‘tweeted co-wrestler Kofi Kingston.

Several friends and members of the wrestling community, including Montel Vontavious Porter, also tweeted the message at the family’s request.

Fellow WWE star JTG, who joined Gaspard on the wrestling tag team ‘Cryme Tyme’, took to Twitter to share a screenshot of a heartfelt conversation he had with the missing wrestler in January.

“If I die tomorrow, just know that I love you as a brother and friend forever, even beyond this life,” wrote Gaspard, to which JTG replied, “I love you too, brotha #Nohomo.”

DailyMail.com was there as there were multiple lifeguards on Sunday, along with divers, lifeboats, paramedics on standby, the coast guard flying back and forth, and helicopters hovering over the crowded beach for nearly three hours.

“I saw the young boy who was inconsolable and his mother wrapping her arms around him,” said one spectator. “The whole thing was just heartbreaking, absolutely heartbreaking to see this mother and her child in total despair.”

On Monday afternoon, Gaspard’s wife Siliana was seen on the beach comforted by close friends as the search for her husband continued.

The boy was unharmed and later walked down the beach with an adult friend for 15 minutes, while his mother Siliana Gaspard continued to stare at the beach in the ocean.

“We let one of our lifeguards go to save a father and a son twice,” Kenichi Haskett of the Los Angeles County Fire Department told ExclusiveMail.com in an exclusive interview.

The father was unfortunately pushed down by a wave as they were pulled out of the stream. The lifeguard saved and grabbed the boy, the son, and also tried to grab the father.

“He was finally pushed down by a wave and we couldn’t find him and we immediately started our lifeboats, which called on extra lifeguards to find his father’s location.”

Gaspard is best known as a member of the wrestling team Cryme Tyme with fellow WWE star JTG.

Since leaving the wrestling world in 2010, Gaspard has pursued an acting career in several films, including Think Like A Man Too and the 2015 comedy Kevin Hart, Get Hard.

He married wife Siliana Gaspard in 2009 and they share a son.

The mother and some friends left the beach at around 12:30 PM. At the same time, the rescue station was also closed.

Before she left, Siliana was seen on the beach with some friends and possible family members comforting her and rubbing her back.

Their son had left about 30 minutes earlier with an adult and another boy. Officials would not confirm whether or not the body was found.

Helicopters still hover over the beach, and many locals wonder why the beach wouldn’t have been closed if the rip currents were so strong.

“The day before this happened, there were unusually strong burst currents. Two girls were taken out because of the riptide. I’m not sure why swimmers were not warned, “Daisy Godfrey tells DailyMail.com. “There were lifeguards right away, but it had taken the helicopter nearly an hour.” “If you feel a strong pull, now is the time to get out of the water. But many swimmers may not think about the pull, especially if they don’t go to the beach often. ‘
