Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has been accused of “chronic lateness” on the set of the upcoming film Red One, which has been claimed to be one of the reasons why the film has a massive budget of $250 million, something which the study has since disproved.
The 51-year-old WWE professional wrestling champion, who recently became emotional after a visit to a military hospital, was at the center of a blistering report from The envelope on Tuesday, which leveled accusations that its delay caused $50 million to be added to the film’s budget.
Sources told the publication that the action man, whose personal WWE nickname is ‘The Final Boss’, had arrived on set up to eight hours late and that the film crew had to film around him.
One of the most interesting claims was that on the sets of previous films, Johnson used to urinate in a water bottle to save time, which the crew members did not like.
A source The Wrap claims to know the movie star well said: “On set, away from his trailer, if he needs to pee, he doesn’t go to the public bathroom.

“You urinate in a Voss water bottle and your team or a personal assistant has to get rid of it.”
There are even claims that the star was not only late for “an average of seven or eight hours” a day, but also missed entire days of production, causing the production cost to increase by eight figures.
“It was a disaster,” a source told The Wrap, while another said, “Dwayne really doesn’t give a damn.”
A spokesperson for Amazon MGM, which is the film studio behind the film, responded with a firm denial of the report’s allegations.
The studio rep told The Wrap: ‘Dwayne Johnson and (producer) Seven Bucks have been incredible partners on Red One, a film that audiences of all ages will love this holiday season.
‘Our testing has been very strong (the reaction from CinemaCon speaks for itself) and we couldn’t have done it without Dwayne’s constant work and support. Any report that implies that we got to this point where he was seven or eight hours late to the set is ridiculous and false.
Two additional sources close to the production also told the publication that Johnson had not experienced an average delay of more than an hour on set.
Meanwhile, another insider close to Amazon MGM said the budget never deviated much from the figure it was given the green light for.
