Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson took to Instagram to share a rather inspiring video on Tuesday morning.
The 52-year-old movie star shared a video of himself meeting a young fan named Jonny Cleasby, who shared his story with The Rock at a meet-and-greet event.
“I just wanted to say a big thank you. You’ve inspired me to lose 60 pounds by January,” Jonny said in the video.
He added: “There’s nothing more important to me than what you do. I think you’re amazing,” to which Dwayne replied: “Thank you so much. I appreciate it,” after looking unrecognizable on a film set.
Dwayne then asked, “Tell me about your experience.” Jonny replied, “Every day I run, I lift weights. I know I don’t look… I used to look bigger and I definitely lost weight.”

“I’ve listened to other people, but you were the one who inspired me the most. I have all your gear, I love it all. I wanted to say: thank you so much. Is there any way I can get a picture with you?”
The Rock agreed, saying: “Of course, man! Let’s do it!” He was also told that tomorrow is Jonny’s birthday and the star wished him a happy birthday before taking the photo.
Dwayne asked again how much he had lost and Jonny said 60 pounds while The Rock said: ‘You look amazing!’
“Thanks for sharing that with me. It means a lot to me,” Dwayne said as he gave Jonny a hug and told him, “Keep up the great work.”
The Rock added in the caption of the post: ‘I know, I know, this may sound cheesy… but you guys hear me say this all the time when it comes to stuff like this…’
She added that “meeting people and hearing about their experiences of weight loss, mental health issues, fitness, dealing with loss, anxiety, depression, tough times, etc., moments like this become my deep reminder that this is the best part of fame…”
“Keep up the great work Jonny Cleasby. Not only have you changed your life, but your journey will change many lives that you will touch in the future as you continue down the road of life,” he added.
“Happy birthday, my friend. Go have some cake and tequila,” The Rock concluded his post on Tuesday.

Johnson was recently seen in a still from his new film The Smashing Machine, which is A24’s 2025 biopic about retired mixed martial artist Mark Kerr.
At 52, the half-Samoan, quarter-black actor plays the half-Irish, half-Puerto Rican fighter who was in his 20s and 30s in the late 1990s and early 2000s when he became a two-time UFC heavyweight tournament champion.
Dwayne was rejuvenated and transformed by two-time Oscar winner Kazu Hiro, the same prosthetic makeup designer who transformed Bradley Cooper in Maestro (2023), Charlize Theron in Bombshell (2019) and Gary Oldman in Darkest Hour (2017).
He also returns as Maui in the live-action version of Moana and a sequel to the animated hit.
