The owner of a business near the crash site described the collision as the “loudest” they had ever heard and the “worst” they had ever witnessed.

“It was probably the loudest accident I’ve heard at this intersection in over 25 years; there have been some pretty decent accidents, but unfortunately, I think this is probably the worst one I’ve personally witnessed,” the Beach’s Hardware owner said. he told Action News.

Police admitted that this accident was particularly difficult to investigate.

“This is a difficult question,” Cosgrove said. ‘You don’t see many things like this. A couple who come to visit this area die tragically. No, this is not something I’ve had to deal with much, something that bad.’

Charges against Wadlinger are still pending.
