During a dinner that followed the oath of office… Erdogan announces his new government

Erdogan stressed that “all the promises we made to our people in the electoral arenas will be fulfilled, as we have done for the last 21 years.”

Today, Saturday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan hosted a dinner in honor of the leaders participating in his inauguration ceremony for a new presidential term.

The banquet, which was held at the presidential “Cankaya” palace in the capital, Ankara, was attended by high-ranking officials from countries and international organizations, including NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

The banquet came after Erdogan was sworn in as President of Turkey in front of parliament, after winning the run-off for the presidential elections last Sunday.

Erdogan announces the launch of the construction of the “Century of Türkiye”

In a speech delivered at the Presidential Complex, Erdogan revealed the directions of his new term, which will last for 5 years, announcing the start of building the “Century of Turkey.”

He said, “We will embrace all of our people, regardless of their political opinions, origins, beliefs, or sects,” stressing that “Turkey needs, more than ever, unity and cohesion among all its people like a solid structure.”

And he added: “After every election, we extend our hand to the opposition, but it refuses to shake our hand. We hope to take a different stance this time.”

In addition, Erdogan confirmed that “all the promises we made to our people in the electoral arenas will be fulfilled, as we have done for the last 21 years.”

He added, “We will strengthen our democracy with a new, free, civil and comprehensive constitution, and liberate ourselves from the current constitution, which was the result of a military coup.”

He pointed out that the results of the recent elections carry many meanings, and that the Turkish people asked to move forward and continue to work and implement projects and services, pointing out that their position has become stronger today with regard to defending Turkey’s interests.

With regard to the government formation announced by Erdogan this evening as well, it included the appointment of Ali Yarli Kaya as Minister of Interior, Hakan Fidan as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bashar Guular as Minister of Defense, Fakhruddin Koca as Minister of Health, and Muhammad Simsek as Minister of Finance and Treasury.

As for Cevdet Yilmaz, he was appointed Vice President of Turkey.
