An Australian guy’s ute was left completely submerged in water after he forgot to put the handbrake on while camping.
The new Chevrolet Silverado, valued at about $150,000, arrived at Yarrilwanna Creek in Toobeah, on the Queensland and New South Wales border, about 10am on Wednesday.
Two RACQ crew members were called to the creek and found the car almost completely underwater after the owner forgot to apply the handbrake.
Local Robbie Hanna told mail: ‘A guy went down there, parked next to the creek and didn’t put the handbrake on. Before you know it, the car rolled into the creek.
“This is a good reminder of the safety aspects of recreational fishing: always park your vehicle.”
Locals said the mud on the ute made it difficult to recover.
The area is known as one of Toobeah’s main fishing spots, famous for its frequent and large catches of yellowbelly fish.
