A Florida man was arrested and charged with boating while intoxicated after his yacht crashed into a row of boats and a dock on Sunday.

Shocking video showed the moment when Brendan Corey Sheridan, a 32-year-old from Sarasota, spent about six minutes docking the 40ft Carver Yacht before colliding with the other ships on the Sarasota Bayfront.

“ I was in the (Bayfront) park with my kids and I heard other people panting because this guy was making a huge wake that rocked the other boats quite a bit, ” Kayla McLoughlin, who recorded the viral clip, explained to Herald Tribune.

“I started recording four minutes earlier because if these boats take damage, I want to show them what happened.”

When a Sarasota police officer came to the scene, he observed a sheridan whose clothes seemed “disheveled” and whose speech was lethargic and slow.

He would have refused to take a field sobriety test, but two breath tests came back with results 0.185 and 0.180.

Sheridan was charged with four felony counts of drunk driving and property damage. He has since been released on $ 2000 bail.

Also on board was 46-year-old Michaela Jean Larson, who lives near Sheridan.

Larson explained to the officers that she was trying to help Sheridan tie down the boat, but found he was about to hit the dock and tried to warn him.

“Sheridan just gassed the barrel badly,” she said.

Witnesses reported throwing a knife into the water from the yacht’s driver from the ship’s cabin.

Sheridan blamed an east wind blowing his boat why he ran into the other ships trying to dock. Officers said the damage was not consistent with being blown into another boat.

‘As he got close to another yacht, people shouted,’ SHUT IT OUT! McLoughlin said. Then he turned and just went right right into the other boat; then just went ahead and hit the dock and turned it off and just walked down the stairs like it was nothing. ‘

Neither Sheridan nor Larson told police where they had been and that they had been under the influence of drugs and alcohol, according to the report.

Sheridan handed in his license.
