A judge has denied bail for Jamie Lee Komoroski, the 25-year-old accused of killing a bride and injuring the groom when she rammed her speeding car into their golf cart on their wedding day marriage.
Komoroski will remain behind bars pending trial as she faces charges of reckless homicide while driving a vehicle and three counts of driving under the influence causing death or grievous bodily harm.
Komoroski appeared in court via video, sporting a striped jail jumpsuit and looking visibly distraught and uncomfortable as the South Carolina Circuit denied his bail appeal.
Circuit Judge Michael Nettles asked both sides to work to expedite the trial, which is scheduled for March 2024.
If the case is not heard by then, Komoroski can be released on $150,000 bail and placed under house arrest with electronic monitoring.
“This is certainly a very tragic situation for everyone involved,” Nettles said after delivering his ruling.

“She didn’t just kill my child,” Lisa Miller, the bride’s mother, told the court in tears. “She killed us all.”
Komoroski’s attorneys were asking for $100,000 bond on the condition that she participate in a rehabilitation program, remain under her mother’s supervision, and give up access to a vehicle or alcohol.
The defense argued that she was not a danger to the community or a flight risk and pointed to her lack of criminal history and strong family support.
Komoroski has been housed at the Charleston County Detention Center since the morning of April 29, 2023, without bond.
The 25-year-old was three times over the legal drinking limit when she killed 34-year-old Samantha Hutchinson in Folly Beach, South Carolina. Hutchinson and her new husband Aric, 36, were being transported from their wedding reception in the golf cart.
