The accused, identified as Jose Spencer Bilbao Rivers, was detained by police as he relieved himself in a small white bucket.

Police had raided his home in the capital Lima, Peru, where they found large amounts of Class A drug cocaine.

The man, known by the alias ‘Old Toad’, 39, was discovered on the first floor of his home.

He claimed he suffered from diarrhea and was unaware that drugs were being prepared for sale on his property.

The man pleaded ignorance despite the fact that the police recorded that he was selling drugs.

Police say he was preparing bags of cocaine on the ground floor and only fled upstairs when he heard them break in.

The police had received a search warrant for the property.

Initially, the suspect denied that the drugs were his, then admitted to selling only what was left of his personal use.

He then finally admitted that he has been selling it for several months, but claimed that he earns no more than 4.2 PEN (1 GBP) for each bag.

It is not known exactly what charges the man is facing.
