Incredible footage captured the moment a driver crashed his car before reeling and giving a bizarre response to passersby.

The shocking incident happened in Duncraig, north of Perth, on June 28 and was filmed by Luke Dewar and the footage was uploaded to Reddit.

Mr Dewar was in the passenger seat of another vehicle and filmed a Holden Maloo van after claiming the driver was “acting really angry”.

“It followed us closely for a while until it finally flew past us and almost hit us,” Dewar wrote.

The video shows the van driving erratically in front of Mr Dewar’s vehicle before veering around a corner.

“He’s going to kill somebody, mate,” Mr Dewar’s friend said.

The van had spun 180 degrees and came to rest against a fence with debris strewn across the cobblestones, smoke billowing from the rear and an Australian flag waving in the background.

The driver of the pickup truck stood in front of the open passenger door and looked confused.

“You’re a fool! A complete fool, my friend!” Mr. Dewar’s friend shouted at him.

“Fuck… what the fuck?” said the driver of the van.

Residents are asking what happened and Mr Dewar’s friend informed them: “He’s the driver there… and he’s an idiot.”

“What happened?” the driver asked.

“What do you mean, what happened? You’re screwed, mate,” said Mr Dewar’s friend.

“No, no, no,” said the driver.

‘It was an accident’.

“It wasn’t an accident, you idiot,” said Mr. Dewar’s friend.

“There are children nearby, my friend, you would have killed someone.”

The truck had turned 180 degrees and came to rest against a fence with debris strewn across the cobblestones.

A Western Australian Police spokesman said a 40-year-old man had been charged over the incident.

“At approximately 2.45pm a Holden Maloo ute crashed into a tree outside a house on Guron Road in Duncraig,” a spokesman said.

‘The driver drove away from the scene before the vehicle collided with the wall of a property further down the road. The 40-year-old driver was arrested shortly afterwards. He was given a breathalyzer test which was believed to have come back positive.’

The man was charged with exceeding a blood alcohol concentration of 0.05 percent, operating a vehicle without a license, driving with a revoked license and reckless driving in an impound zone.

“The utility has been confiscated,” a Western Australian police spokesman said.
