Racing driver Ryan Newman was taken to hospital after a horrific crash that took place during the last lap of the Daytona 500 on Monday night.
Newman, who led the race, buzzed around the speedway before his car was pushed against a wall and turned around.
His vehicle was subsequently hit by a towing car, causing the weather to turn around spectacularly while thousands of stunned racegoers watched in disbelief.
After the shocking incident, dozens of doctors and Daytona officials rushed up the speedway to cut Newman out of the wreckage before heading straight to a daytona beach hospital.
The condition of the 42-year-old is not yet known.
