The child suffered a cut to the head and received three stitches. Both he and his father, who was also injured, are now recovering at home
Glauxi Teixeira told Brazilian news channel G1 that her husband (pictured behind the car) admitted he made the mistake of throwing his glass cup at the car after the heated exchange with the driver of the vehicle before he and his son were run over by the upset driver
The father appears to put his son aside so that the driver can hit the street before throwing a cup at the vehicle.
The driver steps on the brakes and puts his car in reverse, plowing into the parent and child.
Another man standing behind them was also knocked to the ground by the impact.
The boy was taken to a local hospital and given three stitches for a cut he sustained after hitting the sidewalk. His father was also injured. Both were recovering at home.
The driver and the family did not know each other, G1 reports.

Glauxi Teixeira admitted that her husband was at fault for escalating the argument.
‘My husband got angry and threw the glass at the driver. He admits he made a mistake,” Teixeira said. “But if someone had the courage to run over (them), we know we shouldn’t do that again. It would be worse if he was armed.’
The civil police is leading the investigation into the incident.
The driver was not arrested Tuesday.
“Efforts are underway to investigate all elements of the case, as well as the identification of the driver of the vehicle,” the police said.
