LUCENA CITY – A driver at the office of Batangas 1st District Representative Eric Buhain was killed by tandem hitmen in the city of Balayan on Friday afternoon (August 4).
Batangas police said in a report that Edgardo Sanbuenaventura Jr., 51, was walking to a flea market in Barangay (town) Ermita-Calzada at around 4:55 p.m. when two motorcyclists came up from behind and shot him repeatedly. point blank
The assailants fled after the shots were fired, leaving their target dead on the spot. Investigators found 11 spent cartridges from a .45 caliber handgun at the crime scene.
In a phone interview on Saturday morning (August 5), Police Sergeant Major Cipriano Aquino, an investigator on the case, said the victim was a driver assigned to the Buhain district office in town.
The police officer said the victim had no criminal record.
“He doesn’t even have vices,” Aquino said.
An investigation is underway to establish the motive behind the incident.
The police launched a manhunt operation to arrest the murderers.
