A driver has been arrested after a Honda minivan led cops on a high-speed chase through lower Manhattan before crashing into the middle of the street.
Police pursued the still-unknown driver after initially stopping the vehicle for a traffic violation before the driver fled.
The initial exchange with officers had occurred near Delancey St before the driver took off with officers in pursuit earlier that evening.
Eyewitnesses later recalled seeing numerous police cars and vans pursuing the vehicle on 3rd Avenue around 23rd Street shortly thereafter.
Shortly after, the van slammed into another car further up the avenue, where officers responded and arrested the driver.
Early reports suggest Honda van was stolen before chase with police

Large crowds formed at the scene following the incident earlier in the evening on Third Avenue

The right side of the Honda was also clearly damaged before the crash that ended the chase
Footage taken at the scene shows the Honda embedded in the side of a black Lexus.
The right side of the van was also clearly damaged during the chase, with a completely bent wheel.
Those watching the scene unfold can be seen taking photos of the incident as police and paramedics arrive at the scene.
Police confirmed to DailyMail.com that the driver was arrested at the scene and has not yet been charged, and no one was injured as a result.
