On Tuesday, Drew Barrymore, producer and host of The Drew Barrymore Show, hosted a special 25 reunion for her movie Ever After alongside three original cast members.
The 48-year-old former star’s team had “about a week” to recreate Jenny Bevan’s 16th-century costumes for the nostalgic segment.
Drew — who stars as Danielle de Barbarac — enlisted Matthew Kilgore to design her Cinderella-inspired gold and peach gown, and Diana Bridges made her custom wings.
Barrymore “can’t even believe” she got to share the moment with Melanie Lynskey and Megan Dodds, who played her sweet and evil sisters Jacqueline and Marguerite de Ghent.
The Sherman Oaks native was “so jealous” that her stars shared a “huge and magnificent house with a wonderful view of the Dordogne River Valley” in the south of France during production.
“We’re just here in the time machine!” On Tuesday, costar and producer Drew Barrymore (L), producer Drew Barrymore (L), hosted the 25th anniversary reunion for her movie Ever After alongside three original cast members.
The 53-year-old NoCal native revealed that she and the 45-year-old Kiwi sporadically decided to “take topless pictures in a cornfield” of each other because it would be “cool.”
“I couldn’t love him more!” Drew gushed.
“By the way, that was, like, the third day of knowing each other,” Melanie said.
“And the proposal was made, and I was, like, ok sure!”
“Little ice breaker!” Megan exclaimed.
At that point, Barrymore welcomed her on-screen love interest Dougray Scott, who played Prince Henry of France in Ever After.
The 57-year-old Scotsman personally thanked the Emmy nominee seven times for “going to bat” for him during the then frustrating audition process.
Drew marveled at the fact that we’ve been telling little girls to “wait for the prince to save them” in Charles Perrault’s 1697 fairy tale Cinderella “for centuries” and “never think twice.”
