Drew Barrymore avoided directly addressing Donald Trump’s victory over Kamala Harris in the 2024 US election in the taping of her show on Wednesday morning, just months after she called for the Democratic candidate to be the country’s ‘Momala’.
It was announced in the early hours that Trump had regained the White House, becoming the first president in more than 130 years – and only the second in history – to win a second non-consecutive term.
Talk show host Drew, 49, chose to happily ignore the election results while filming her CBS show Wednesday at 10 a.m. and did not directly speak about Harris’ loss or the GOP’s victory.
Instead, the ET actress dedicated her efforts to a light-hearted chat with Judy Greer and Peter Holmes in anticipation of her upcoming holiday movie The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.
She also made fresh croissants with a Thanksgiving twist with Christina Tosi in the kitchen.

At one point, an audience member referred to “last night,” but Drew led the conversation to advocate for everyone to be themselves and feel safe.
Before ending the episode, Drew admitted to the audience that he wanted to learn to worry less as he approached 50.
Drew’s talk show is currently in its fifth season and typically tapes two episodes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, three times a week.
In April, his interview with Harris went viral after she urged the then-vice president, 60, to be ‘Momola.’
At that moment, the presenter said: ‘I’ve been thinking that we really all need a tremendous hug in the world right now.’
Drew then approached Harris on the couch and continued to plead with her to become a “mother” to all of America.
“But in our country we need you to be Momala of the country,” she said.
Harris smiled and seemed unsure how to respond to the new nickname.
“Yeah, I mean,” Harris responded without finishing the sentence.
Drew then leaned forward and took Harris’s hands as the audience applauded.
Drew called on Harris to become the country’s ‘Momala’ in an interview on her talk show in April.
During their interview, which went viral at the time, Drew held Harris’ hand.
At another point in the interview, Harris defended her laughter and suggested that those who mock her are exhibiting a form of sexism.
“You were asking me before what it means to be the first woman (vice president),” Harris told Drew.
‘And you know, it’s funny because people still have to get used to this, right?’
Harris then claimed that an example of persistent misogyny in which the public adjusts to having a female vice president is when people pay more attention to her laughter or mannerisms.
‘I mean, my staff, for example, sometimes show me little things that just amuse me. Apparently some people love to talk about the way I laugh,” Harris said.
Harris publicly acknowledged the 2024 US election in a speech at Howard University on Wednesday afternoon.
It was previously reported that he called Trump hours after the race was called and his devastating defeat was confirmed.
