OnlyFans star Drea de Matteo has criticized “short-sighted” women who are prioritizing abortion rights ahead of the election, and revealed she has had three layoffs.
The Sopranos alum, 52, admitted this in an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com in which she praised Donald Trump, 78, for not caring about women’s reproductive rights.
The mother of two said she was able to offer a unique perspective on the debate, having previously undergone two abortions and a dilation and curettage, a surgical procedure that involves widening the cervix and scraping the lining of the uterus to remove tissue.
“I feel like women who hold so firmly to this idea are very short-sighted because they are,” she said just days after voting for Trump.
‘It’s almost like it’s a religion. It’s almost like they have to hold on to this and it excuses them from really understanding what’s going on everywhere. “There are so many things that are so much bigger.”
Onlyfans star Drea de Matteo has slammed the suggestion that voting for Donald Trump means she doesn’t support women’s abortion rights.
The 52-year-old slammed “short-sighted” women who prioritize abortion rights ahead of the election, and revealed she has suffered three layoffs.
“I am a woman who has had three abortions,” she continued. “I always say two, but I had a miscarriage, so I had to have a D&C (dilation and curettage) for that too.”
The Sons of Anarchy star, who insisted he is “still pro-choice”, said he takes issue with “liberal men” who shout about women’s reproductive rights.
‘Shut up, what the hell do you know about women’s reproductive rights?’ she said. “But I understand the conservative point of view when they say, ‘This is a soul, this is a spirit, this is a human being.’
“I have a lot of friends who are super pro-life and I love them, but I also feel like we should have the right to choose within reason.”
As for Trump, he suggested that none of the former president’s actions indicate he has a particular interest in taking away women’s right to abortion.
While in office, Trump reveled in being the most pro-life president in history, taking credit for ending federal abortion protections by installing the conservative justices who overturned Roe v Wade to the Supreme Court.
He has since signaled that he could vote to end Florida’s six-week abortion ban when it comes up in a referendum later this year.
However, the former Apprentice star avoided committing to using the presidential veto if a nationwide federal ban landed on his desk as president, even though his running mate, JD Vance, said he would do so.
The Sopranos alum, 52, admitted this in an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com in which she praised Donald Trump for not caring about women’s reproductive rights.
“I think women who hold so firmly to this idea are very short-sighted because they are,” she said. ‘There are so many things that are much bigger’
Reflecting on the former President’s stance, de Matteo, who has a son and daughter with his ex Shooter Jennings, stated: “His option to give power to the States when he’s a Republican and he could very easily have said, “Let’s get rid of him.”
“I think when he takes it to the United States is actually the moment where you can see that this man is not interested in taking away your reproductive rights. He is the one who says, ‘This is not my problem.’
Noting that Trump often likes to say that he was “responsible for things,” she continued: “I don’t think he cares about women’s reproductive rights.” And I don’t mean that in a way that’s demonizing him. In fact, I like it. It’s like I’m not trying to be that guy.
After explaining why the focus on abortion rights was shortsighted, de Matteo criticized those leading the issue rather than the fact that “women are now also on the list for a draft.”
Although a Senate committee approved a bill that would require women to register for the Selective Service, the bill still has a ways to go before becoming law.
It still must be approved by both houses of Congress and then signed by the president.
She continued: ‘They’re his sons and daughters now, and it’s automatic. Once we go to war, everyone goes in and why doesn’t anyone focus on that?
‘Are you going to choose between being drafted into World War III and your daughter having the right to have an abortion, especially if you live in the state of California or the state of New York? You’re going to vote for reproductive rights when you know you have them here in your state, like it’s stupid.
The star, who played Adriana La Cerva on The Sopranos, criticized leaders over the issue rather than the fact that “women are now also on the list for a draft.”
“You’re not thinking about the implications of this country being seriously on the brink of war.”
The Swordfish actress is no stranger to criticizing Hollywood for lashing out at the right.
She joined OnlyFans last year after claiming she was quickly running out of money and credited the X-rated subscription service for helping her save her house.
She said the siege is now her political freedom and has saved her from having to join the ranks of “Hollywood lunatics who totally condone war.”
“Anyone who knows me knows I had to join Onlyfans to save my home, save my life, save my family,” she said.
“And then once that happened, I was thrown to the wolves in this kind of political arena that I never anticipated.”
The actress said she would happily ‘make out with some girl in the movie’ all day on Onlyfans to avoid joining the ranks of ‘Hollywood lunatics who totally condone war’.
“The OnlyFans page is my political freedom,” he said. ‘I’m not trying to tell you what to do. Just keep in mind. That’s all.’
Earlier this year, she claimed she was forced to turn to the subscription service to make money after her stance on vaccination caused her acting work to dry up and her agent to drop her.
The move quickly led to her finding herself in a perilous financial situation after she requested a forbearance to help her with her mortgage payments, but ultimately was unable to pay the astronomical sum she owed to debt collectors.
Although the actress has since stated that she was able to make enough money in five minutes after launching her profile to pay off the foreclosure, she has since cut ties with Hollywood.
He claimed that “half of Hollywood is voting for Trump” and that celebrities endorsing Harris are “pushing a narrative that is dangerous.”
