A panicked Missouri driver jumped out of her moving car in a desperate attempt to escape after losing control of the vehicle.

Shocking footage captured the moment 19-year-old Amircia Smalls jumped out of the driver’s seat as her car began to slide out of control on a patch of black ice on an exit near I-29 and Vivion Road in Kansas City.

The car then went off the curvy road and fell onto the grass. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured during Saturday’s dramatic incident.

“I was really thinking if a collision was going to happen, I don’t want to be in the car,” Smalls said. fox 8.

“I kind of started to panic, but I didn’t want to panic.”

Smalls decided to abandon her car after he failed to slow down while she braked. He saw a busy intersection and a red light ahead.

After checking her mirrors and determining that there was no one behind her at the exit, she jumped out of the car.

She told Fox 8: “I clicked the unlock button and said, ‘Okay, I just jumped out.’ There was no car behind me or anything like that.

A stranger approached Smalls after witnessing the incident to make sure he was okay. He said other people also came to help and even offered to bring food to his house.

She said her knee hurts a little and is sore from the jump, but she was basically unscathed. The main damage his car suffered was that the bumper came off.

A spectator recorded the entire event and posted it on social media. The local towing company, Mr. Tow, saw him a few minutes after he got in and immediately offered to help Smalls.

Tow truck driver Walter Wright told Fox 8, “I had already seen the video shortly after it was posted on Facebook, as had 2 million other people.”

The video, posted by Houston DeFoe of Kansas City, has more than 10,000 reactions and nearly 7,000 shares.

‘This girl ran out of her car yesterday while sliding off an exit near Briarcliff! He basically said, “Jesus takes the wheel and the whole car,” he wrote in the caption.

Wright said there were knee-deep drifts of snow that day. The company removed Smalls’ car from the embankment within 10 minutes. They then towed it home for free.

He said he was happy to be able to help her so quickly. Smalls will “always be grateful” for their efforts, he told Fox 8.

Smalls said he decided to leave his vehicle when he saw the busy intersection ahead.

A statement on Mr Tow’s Facebook page reads: ‘It was a scary situation but the outcome was phenomenal! Everyone is SAFE and we were able to get their car out and return it safely!

“Thank you, Kansas City, for helping us all locate her and for trusting us, trusting us and supporting us.”

Smalls is glad she was safe and that the damage was minimal, but encouraged others to stay in their cars if they find themselves in her situation.
