This is the dramatic moment a police motorcycle crashed into a fleeing suspect’s scooter, before the officer chased him on foot through a McDonald’s.
The video shows how the vehicle failed to stop after being flagged down by the officer for allegedly driving without a number plate on Eltham Road in Eltham, south-east London.
Chasing the suspect on his own motorcycle, the chase soon took an unexpected turn after the officer’s vehicle collided with the scooter, sending them both to the other side of the road.
The officer then followed the moped driver on foot in a chase that saw them race around a McDonald’s drive-thru.
Video of the chase was captured by a bystander on the sidewalk, who filmed as the two motorcycles sped by.

Chasing on his own motorcycle, the chase soon took an unexpected turn after the officer collided with the suspect, sending them both to the other side of the road.
Recording the incident, the pedestrian screamed in alarm when the high-speed chase came to an abrupt stop and both vehicles fell to the ground.
A nearby McDonald’s parking lot became the scene of the chase, and the couple disappeared from view as the passerby watched. It is unknown if the suspect was captured by the officer pursuing him.
The video, which was shared on social media on Saturday, has since garnered more than 3,300 likes and more than 390 comments.
Not to be discouraged, the persistent agent decided to pursue the moped driver on foot.
In the comical scene, the officer chased the driver on foot through a McDonald’s drive-thru.
One user said: “It was great police work.”
Another added: “The police will feel it when the adrenaline wears off.”

The police’s Roads and Transport division posted in response to the video: “This moped was traveling without a VRM plate and was previously pursued for this.
‘When seeing the police, the moped did not stop again. Our officer suffered minor injuries and the investigation continues into the moped that was confirmed stolen. ‘
