Donald Trump’s election campaign is said to be in panic mode after Vice President Kamala Harris’ political team raised more than $300 million in August, more than double the amount raised by the former president.

Senior officials who ran Trump’s election campaign were brimming with confidence when current President Joe Biden announced his withdrawal as the Democratic candidate last month.

But momentum and money have suddenly shifted in favor of Harris’s campaign, which claims… They have raised more than $540 million since entering the race on July 21, a huge sum that dwarfs the fundraising haul of the Republicans.

The figures were confirmed by two campaign officials. NBC News.

Harris’ campaign received a major boost in August after Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz was chosen as her vice presidential nominee in conjunction with the successful four-day Democratic convention in Chicago.

The massive cash infusion for Harris came after the Trump campaign reported it had raised $130 million in August. The campaign says it is in a good position with nearly $300 million in cash on hand.

The massive sum of cash adds to the war chest Harris inherited after Biden’s departure.

Some state Democratic parties have also said they have seen a surge in donations after Biden stepped aside and endorsed Harris.

In essence, the shakeup has reinvigorated Democrats, who were less than thrilled about a Biden-Trump rematch. Harris’s position at the top of the ticket has also galvanized Black women, a crucial voting bloc for Democrats.

Meanwhile, the Trump campaign noted that 98 percent of donations in August were for amounts under $200, with the average donation being $56.

Trump has proven to be a prolific fundraiser, but the novelty of Harris’ candidacy has prompted a surge in cash from Democratic donors.

“These August fundraising numbers are a reflection of that movement and will propel President Trump’s America First movement back into the White House so we can undo the terrible failures of Harris and Biden,” said Trump campaign senior adviser Brian Hughes.

‘With Republicans united and a growing number of independents and disaffected Democrats crossing party lines, the Trump-Vance campaign has momentum heading into the final stretch of the race.’

Harris’ next campaign finance disclosure deadline comes later this month, on September 20.

The money for Harris is likely to keep coming, however, as there are plans to hold a series of fundraising events for Harris throughout September, with possible events in New York, Atlanta, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

On Tuesday, Harris’ campaign said it was sending nearly $25 million in an effort to boost Democrats’ efforts in local races, a figure the campaign said was the largest ever seen in a presidential cycle.

Trump’s campaign committee raised $268.5 million in total between January 2023 and July 31, 2024, according to documents filed with the Federal Election Commission.

President Biden dropped out of the presidential race in late July and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as his candidate, triggering a flood of online donations to Democrats.

But Harris’s candidacy even generated enough enthusiasm among donors to erase the financial advantage Trump held in late June against Biden.

Looking at the period up to the end of July, Trump had a financial advantage.

The top 10 Super PACs supporting Trump raised $305.6 million since the start of 2024, while the top 10 supporting Harris, once Biden is gone, raised $199.2 million over that same period.

Trump is also spending more money on advertising in Pennsylvania than any other state between now and Nov. 5, highlighting the state’s importance in preventing Harris from securing the 270 electoral votes needed for victory.

Trump’s advisers say the Republican nominee is in a good position for the remaining two months of the general election campaign.
