Terrifying footage has captured the moment a monster truck display at the Royal Perth Show didn’t go to plan after one vehicle broke down while another crashed and landed on its roof.

A blue monster truck was going through ramps when it failed to land its final ramp and flipped onto its roof on the first night of the show on Saturday in front of a packed crowd at Claremont Showground.

As the vehicle fell on its side, a young woman in the crowd was heard saying: “I don’t think that should happen.”

The footage, which shows the event being temporarily halted, was posted on Instagram with the cheeky caption: “You can’t park there, mate.”

But the bad luck for monster trucks did not end there.

Seconds later another truck could be seen passing over a jump.

But when it landed, sparks flew from the red vehicle before it broke apart.

The truck had to be towed off the field as a shocked crowd, including small children, looked on.

Fortunately, all occupants of the Monster Truck escaped unharmed. The times of the bell tower reported.

The three monster trucks in the show are all from Western Australia and will continue to perform at the Perth Royal Show every night for the next week.

The Perth Royal Show runs from 21-28 September.

This is not the first time that a monster truck demonstration has ended in a huge drama.

In 2017, a woman was treated for shock after a 500-horsepower vehicle veered off course and knocked over a crowd-protecting fence at the Penrith Showground in Sydney’s west.

Footage showed horrified spectators walking away after narrowly avoiding being crushed.

Witnesses told the Daily Mail Australia that the victim was a woman wearing a leg brace who was struggling to escape the speeding vehicle.
