Drake places sweet tribute to mother of son Sophie Brussaux on Mother’s Day … after mending his once controversial relationship with former model
Drake posted a tribute to his former flame Sophie Brussaux on his Instagram story on Sunday.
The photo of the 34-year-old hitmaker showed his child’s mother taking a selfie with their three-year-old son Adonis; the artist later repositioned the image in her own story.
The post comes months after the singer re-established his relationship with the former model, with whom he had a controversial relationship.

The Forever songwriter also added a short graphic text to the image of the post that read, ‘Happy Mother’s Day big mama @sophieknowsbetter.’
Drake and Brussaux were first linked in 2017, although the circumstances behind their first meeting are still unclear.
The two managed to keep their relationship a secret until the rapper became embroiled in a feud with fellow songwriter Pusha T, which eventually culminated in 2018 with the release of the diss track The Story Of Adidon.
During the song, the 43-year-old hitmaker discussed the circumstances surrounding the birth of his rival’s son, including issues related to child support and Drake’s relationship with his own father.

Spreading the word: Although the rapper initially tried to keep his son’s arrival private, his rival, Pusha T, broke the news of the child’s birth on his diss track The Story Of Adidon
The rapper also wrote verses mentioning the 31-year-old performer by name and calling the Degrassi actor a “ deadbeat. ”
Pusha T went on to reveal Drake’s child’s name to the world and at the same time rebuked his rival for his behavior, shouting, ‘Adonis is your son / and he deserves more than an Adidas press run; that is real. Love the baby, respect the girl. ‘
Shortly after the track was released, TMZ reported that the rapper had been paying child benefits to Brussaux since the beginning of her pregnancy.
The hitmaker tried to sidestep the rumors until the release of his 2018 album Scorpion, where he directly addressed the situation regarding his son.
Drake seemed to give a semblance of reasoning as to why he kept his child out of the public eye on the song Emotionless, tapping, “I didn’t hide my child from the world / I hid the world from my child.”

While the Hotline Bling singer maintained a controversial relationship with Brussaux for the first few years of his son’s life, their relationship appears to have improved significantly in recent months.
Earlier this year, the hitmaker made several references to both his child and the model on the collaboration track Lemon Pepper Freestyle, which came out in March.
During the track, Drake shared that he and Brussaux got along as co-parents as he tapped: “I sent her the child benefit, she sent me the heart emoji.”
He also noted that his relationship with his son had also improved, rhyming, “Recess hits, Dad probably ringed another M / School bell and I’m there to get him again.”
