Days Of Our Lives star Drake Hogestyn died of pancreatic cancer the day before his 71st birthday.
The soap opera actor’s death was announced via the show’s social media account on Saturday night.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Drake Hogestyn.” the statement said. ‘
He was thrown into the curve ball of his life when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but faced the challenge with incredible strength and determination.

“After putting up an incredible fight, he passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.”
Hogestyn, who played John Black on the series, was also remembered as “the most incredible husband, father, dad and actor.”
